Guess Who's Here...

It's Sophie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! See, her mom had been planning a huge family vacay for a while, and had asked if she could hang with us for the week. Then this past Friday morning she had a scare with her lymphoma and we thought she might not get to come. BUTT..she made a quick recovery (long story, but her steroid medication went nuts, and caused her to get sick. Thank the Lord they were able to correct it and she was back to her hungry and snorty self by Sunday). Here she is!

So when is dinner around here??
The frowny face pug club is now in session. I pawromise I like her, you just can't tell.
Sniff sniff snortle.
How about some TV Sophie? I could go for some Vampire Diaries.
Stephan is such a hottie.. I can't stop watching.

So far so good. Sophie has an extremely special diet and medication schedule to treat her lymphoma and accommodate her liver issues. She gets alkaline water to drink, and steamed broccoli, carrots, sweet potatoes, gluten free pasta, brown rice, and boiled egg in various combinations. For snacks, she can have some plain organic yogurt or an apple. I am sorta jealous of her diet..kibble stinks!

PRAYERS/POWER OF THE PAW NEEDED!!!

Furiends, please send the Power of the Paw and major prayers to our pal Sophie and her family. Just got a call that she has taken a turn for the worst, and it doesn't look good. Her momma is having to make some very difficult decisions right now. -If you missed the post about Sophie, check out the Aug. 31, 2011 post.

****UPDATE: Got a call saying that Sophie has been doing a little better the past few hours and has been able to eat. Keep those pawrayers coming!

Cousin Bosco Learns His Place in the Pack

A stand off...
HAAAAAIIIILLLLP! The Boston has clamped onto my tail!
Coco: I bitey your ear...Payback Son!

Kitty: EWWWWW, don't be giving me cousin sugars!
Taking a breather. Two butts in a pod. Though we play hard, we are best furiends. We's never actually aggressive so don't anyone worry. We stick to each other like glue.
Boy oh boy do these girls have spunk!

Part II - On the Bed
Rarrrrrgggh.
Hey Mr., put that thing away! This is an all girl pup house, you know.
I bet my mouf is bigger than yours..
Mom, can he stay another night?? I like this guy.
I'm worn slap out. MUST-TAKE-NAP.
Well folks, I think we all learned a valuable lesson here. Kitty and Coco=1, Bosco=0. Never argue with women. They will put you in your place. I'm the biggest, but absolute last in the pack order. Hhhhhmmpppf.

More Farmer's Market Fun

Brodie: YEEEAAAAHHHHH...I'm the man. Two fine ladies are in my shaggin' wagon. Coco: I'm smiling my goofy smile. You can all thank me for my sacrifice when we get ice cream. Kitty: I have surface issues..Get me out of this red contraption and stay on your side Mr.!OK. 1-2-3...Let's blow this joint!
Helllo there. Why are yous laying down? I'm very friendly don't worry.
Really Penelope, we met last week and it was all good. You smell really nice though.
She is a funny Frenchie. We have seen her a few times and she lays down immediately. Her mom says this is just her habit. When we leave she follows us and wants to hang out more...on the ground. Isn't she cute? We like her and she looks like a pug.

Hope everyone has a good week! We got rained out in Alabama this holiday weekend but we still made the best of it and hung out with cousin Bosco.

*******Sophie Update: Miss Thing starts her chemo treatments by IV this week. Her mum says it is only for 10 minutes, once a week to start. Her new diet has already started as well. It is holistic, and she gets tons of veggies, supplements, alkaline water, and even sugar free pasta noodles. I will get the full run-down on the diet and post about that later. Please pray her first treatment goes ok.
If you missed Sophie's story, please check out the 8/31/2011 post for details. She is a strong pup that needs our help!

Sad Day for my Furiend..

This here is my furiend Sophie. Her mom and my mom have been pals since Kindergarten. Sophie and I have recently become good pug pals.
Sophie is a fun loving gal. She has the cutest smiley face you will ever see, and loooooooves to roll over on her back for a nice tummy rub and scritchin'.
Though you would never know it, Sophie has had some major health problems in her four years. She had a liver shunt, and had to have MAJOR surgery plus lots and lots of treatments. Her mom spent two weeks in a hotel in another city for the surgery far away to give her the best medical care possible, and that is not counting the many doctor's appointments. She pulled through and has been doing well. Happy and playing her heart out, despite a very strict diet and medication regimen. You can even read about it here: livershunt.net (under Sophie on the left side bar).

A week and a half ago her mom discovered a lump on her underbelly. A few trips and a round of antibiotics later she has been diagnosed with lymphoma. Why friends??? Doesn't seem fair. Her mum is pregnant and is very stressed and very sad that this is happening to her miracle pug. The fact is that the stress of her pug baby being sick is starting to affect her two-legger baby as well. I wish there was something, anything we could do for her.

Just wanted to share this in hopes that you will send up some serious prayers for this family, and maybe even some cash to help cover Sophie's medical costs. We don't ask fur much on here, and normally we keep it very light-hearted, but this time we need some help from our friends.

Thanks,
Coco

George the Terrier is His Name

Meet George. Mom says he is here to stay. I think he is a grouch! Dad picked up this hooligan at Urban Outfitters as a gift fur mom. She goes NUTS over stuff like that. I guess he is sort of cool looking in a vintage way. Better give him the sniff down to make sure he is cool.I don't know Co...Does he have a good butt stink?
George will have to prove himself. I'm still a little wary.

Ok, well, I'm not exactly sure how he ended up here. He's a decent snuggler though. I like him 'cause he doesn't talk much.

Hello Mr. Fireman..Excuse Me While I Take a Crap

The other day at the Farmer's Market we saw a nice fireman who had a Boston too. Turns out his Boston's name is Harley and is the firehouse mascot. Here I was having a laugh at his pics of Harley, and what does Kitty do? She squats down to take a CRAP!!
Are you kidding me??
Coco was humiliated. Seriously, biggify to see the look on her face.

Kitty: MOM! Don't you dare post that. Someone dropped a piece of burrito and I felt it my duty to clean up after them..

No harm no foul. Awkward family photo time! As you can see, I wasn't brave enough to get a group shot after that little stunt of Kitty's.

Farmer's Market Fun in Our Chilly Pads

See this smiley face? Yep, nothing makes my Boston butt happier than a trip to the Farmer's Market. I luv luv luv's it!!!!!!!!
Coco: Oh Momma, I am just about to faint in this heat...I need an Italian ice ASAP.
Suckers.Sluuuurrrrrp. Tasty goodness.
Which way to the chicken jerky lady?
Quit snapping pics lady, we are supposed to meet our pal Brodie at Red Cat coffee house.
We first learned of the awesome Frogg Togg Chilly Pads from our pal Salinger. Every puggy should get one. I'm telling you what, we couldn't be out in this heat without them. Seriously. Now so long as we take breaks in the shade, we can shop and meet furiends for a few hours. For these pics, the chilly pad was just wrapped around us and secured with a safety pin, but Mom made us cooling shirts this past week, which we will model soon....We sort of look like we are going scuba diving, but oh well.

Bosco Update

Good news! Bosco came through his surgery with flying colors. He must have turned up the charm, because the staff wanted to keep him he was so sweet. In true pug fashion, he was supposed to be groggy for two days, but was alert and awake when Dad picked him up that afternoon. Coco was the same way. The only negative was that he had to wait to eat until the next morning. If you know Bosco this was absolute torture!!! Poor guy.

Thank you all for the prayers and well wishes. Yous the best.

Pawrayers Needed for Cousin Bosco!

Kitty: Oh geese. No, I will NOT give him sugars..he farted and it singed my nose hairs.

Bosco: I'm bigger, stronger, and can get Coco to gang up on you with smelly butt. So there.

CHEEEEESE! That is as good as it is going to get Mom.

Please everyone send up a prayer for Bosco. He has already been taken back to have a molar tooth removed, his teeth cleaned, and nails trimmed (he goes nutso over a nail trim so they are doing it while he is under). Bosco has been through a lot as a rescue, including heart worm treatment, so we are hoping this is the last serious vet visit he will have. This boy is loved!
